Perched above the Fuente Verde road, two kilometers from the Tuesday market in Tinamastes, Abundant Eden Nursery grows rooted edibles, medicinals, and trees for anyone building a living food forest here in the watershed.
It’s also a working demonstration of nearly two decades of hands-on land care in southern Costa Rica: swales cut into steep terrain, worm farms, composting toilets, cob-and-bottle mandala walls, seed propagation, and edible landscaping, all tended on the two hectares of watershed the project manages directly.
Visitors can walk the land on a farm tour, join a weekend workshop for a hands-on introduction to a specific skill, or bring their own property in for a site analysis, watershed assessment, or planting design.
